Transition communications

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is pleased to announce that beginning July 1, 2022, the State of Illinois Deferred Compensation Plan recordkeeping services will be transferred to Empower.

The transfer to Empower will happen automatically. Your contributions, investments, distributions, and loans are not changing. You don’t need to do anything right now unless you want to make changes to your account at T. Rowe Price.

This change is designed to give you more ways to access and manage your retirement account, improve your overall retirement planning experience, and empower you to make the journey to retirement as rewarding as every day after.

Prior to 3 p.m. (Central time)

  • This is your last day to contact T. Rowe Price to request account transactions, including but not limited to contribution changes, investment election changes, loans (if applicable) or withdrawals.

Blackout period begins at 3 p.m. (Central time)

  • Fund transfers, investment elections and deferral changes will be unavailable for the duration of the blackout period.
  • Payroll contributions will continue to be deducted from your paycheck during the transition period and will be deposited into your account after the blackout period is over.
Week of July 10, 2022

Blackout period ends

  • Enjoy full access to your retirement account online and by phone.
  • Return to this website to register your account and log in.
