Nassau County’s $2 billion retirement plan remains with Empower and adopts full suite of advisory services for 11,500 plan participants

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLO. Feb. 26, 2025 – Empower announced today that Nassau County, NY, a client since 2010, has renewed its contract with the nation’s second-largest retirement services provider.

Empower will continue the plan administration of the County’s 457 deferred compensation plan for approximately 11,500 employees and retirees with assets of $2 billion under administration.*

The new five-year contract commenced Jan. 1, 2025, and is in effect until Dec. 31, 2029.

Empower is one of the largest providers of government 457 retirement plans in the country, serving entities across states, cities, counties, municipalities, associates, territories, and special districts (such as transit and utility), as well as police and fire departments.
